South Lodge Wine Club is launched!
Saturday 3rd December saw the launch of South Lodge Wine Club,
over 40 guests gathered in The Cellar to taste and enjoy a sample
of very special wines only available to our wine club
members. The wines come direct from the producers
ensuring members recieve the very best wines and the very
best price.

The Pass awarded with a Michelin Star!
The Michelin Guide 2012 acolates were anounced
on Thursday 6th October and we are delighted that The Pass was
awarded its first Michelin star. The Michelin guide is arguably the
most revered restaurant guide amongst chefs, restaurant critics and
guests alike.
Says Matt Gillan, Head Chef:
“I feel truly honoured. To be awarded a Michelin star is a
remarkable achievement. I am immensely proud of the team. It just
goes to show that hard work does pay off!”
Secret Pop-Up Restaurant
raises £6,400 for Charity!
Monday 18th April saw a
very special charity event take place in a very secret
location….
Executive Chef Lewis Hamblet and Head Chef of
The Pass Matt Gillan organised an amazing fund raising dinner to
raise money as part of our 30thirty30 celebrations.
Lewis and Matt decided to open, for one night
only, a ‘pop-up’ restaurant, the twist being that the location of
the event was kept top secret up until the day! 80 people, all
family, friends and regular guest of South Lodge Hotel gamely
entered into the spirit of the occasion by buying tickets without
knowing the location or the menu! Only that they needed to keep the
date free and that they were raising money for Macmillan Cancer
Support.
The ingredients for the delicious five course
menu were generously donated by our food suppliers: Hutchins, our
butchers in Partridge Green, Pure Oyster Fish Company in Pease
Pottage, Downlands Produce in Pulborough and The Huge Cheese
Company. The wines were sponsored by Ellis of Richmond,
Matthew Clark, H&H Bancroft and CJ Pack.
Lewis and Matt were supported by a great team
of people from South Lodge, many of the staff volunteered to help
and gave their time as there contribution to the fund raising
efforts.
The evening included a raffle and auction with
prizes donated from amongst others: Nytimber Vineyard, The
Petersham Hotel, South Lodge Hotel and West Ham Unitied!
And the venue was…. Horsham Rugby
Club! The Club commented that they had ‘never
seen an event like it!’
The initiative grew from the need for Lewis
and Matt to raise £1,200 each to participate in the Exclusive
Hotels 30Thirty30 campaign to raise £30,000 for for Macmillan
Cancer Support. A fund raising cycle ride is being organised by
Exclusive Hotels. The Exclusive Hotels 30thirty30 campaign
celebrates the groups 30th birthday with a goal of
raising £30,000 for Macmillan this will be matched by Exclusive
Hotels for SpringBoard.

And the winner is...
Following on from the other exciting awards and accolades that
have come our way this year, we're also delighted to announce that
South Lodge country house hotel in West Sussex
won...
- A Gold Award for ‘Business Tourism' and a second Gold Award for
'Large Hotel of the Year' at the South East Tourism Excellence
Awards that took place in October
- 'Food & Beverage Manager of the Year 2009' at the Hotel
Cateys for our very talented F&B champion Erick Kervaon
