General Manager
"I’ve worked in some very special places but
having the privilege to manage South Lodge is really like coming
home.
Over the past 20 years in the hotel industry I
have gained experience in many types of hotel business from the
celebrated city centre London hotel, Brown’s, an island beach
resort of 14 luxury villas in the Seychelles to the world renowned
golfing resort of Gleneagles in Scotland. This as well as being a
hugely rewarding and diverse experience has given me an opportunity
to learn many aspects of hospitality, service and an insight into
the attention to detail that makes an outstanding hotel."
The Talk of The Town
South Lodge is I believe what a country house hotel is all about
- rest, relaxation and replenishment. The previous owner Frederick
du Cane Godman not only picked a magnificent site with
unprecedented views but designed and built a house with character
and planted an outstanding collection of over 200 varieties of
Camellia, Rhododendron and Azalea in a beautifully laid out and
established aromatic garden as it is today.
The house has always had a very special place in the local
community. Generations of girl guides visited the house in the days
of the Godman’s enjoying teas on the lawn and fabulous Christmas
parties. The hotel continues to hold fabulous parties and
stages special events, literally every month. It is our
opportunity to show off and provide the very best of what we
do.
Local Flavours, Global Guests
What I love about South Lodge is that it is constantly evolving.
The owners, the Pecorelli family have demonstrated considerable
vision in creating the wonderful hotel it is today. It’s currently
enjoying an expansion with 43 new luxurious bedrooms being added
and an amazing new premier dining concept “The Pass” - a
restaurant created within a fully refurbished, state of the art
kitchen.
Exceptional
I always remember visiting hotels as a child and feeling like I
had been transported to another world. I feel inspired every day I
come into work to do everything I can to capture this feeling in
the hotel and to work with my excellent team in providing the
warmest welcome and the best levels of service we possibly can.
