Friday 24th December
From
2.00pm: Arrive at your leisure to begin your
Christmas hotel break, and be welcomed with a warming glass of
spiced mulled wine and home-baked mince pies
3.00pm: Seasonal
champagne afternoon tea will be served
5.00pm: What do you feel like doing this
evening? Choose between our Family Christmas Bazaar or for a
more formal evening, join us for dinner in The Camellia
Restaurant
6.00pm: Christmas
carols and readings performed by a local choir provide an
unashamedly nostalgic start to the glitzy evening
7.00pm: An opportunity
to meet fellow guests over champagne and canapés before sitting
down to a five-course gourmet dinner in the Camellia Restaurant
complemented by musical entertainment and a skilful
characaturist
11.00pm: For those
who wish, transport to midnight services at local churches
is available
Christmas
Day…
Saturday 25th December
From 7.00am - Start the day with a full English
country house breakfast served in the Camellia and indulge in the
thought of a Christmas Day where you don't have to lift a
finger.
Don't forget to pop into Santa's Grotto throughout the day to
check if he is in.
Morning: There’s plenty of time to relax with
your family and friends until the main event… or perhaps you’d like
a few holes of golf at our sister property Mannings Heath Golf
Club or alternatively, join the hilarity of our Duck
Herding Challenge on the lawns from
10.00am (All ages welcome)
11.00am: As Christmas wouldn’t be
complete without a visit from Santa Claus, an appearance by the man
himself is promised bearing a gift for all
12noon: The most
impressive, traditional Christmas lunch will be served with all the
trimmings - exquisite dishes, impeccable service and a musical
twist
Afternoon: Rest and
relaxation – perhaps a stroll in the grounds, a visit to our
in-house cinema, or joining that time-honoured seasonal custom of
the Queen’s speech at 3.00pm
2.00pm –
4.00pm: Kid’s Kitchen: an
opportunity for children to make as much mess as they want learning
and creating with a member of our friendly kitchen team
6.00pm: A relaxed
'Pub Themed' evening lies ahead with a choice of fun quizzes
and challenges for you to drop in and out as you please,
accompanied with a simple yet delicious supper of fish & chips
(South Lodge style!) with drinks available to purchase from our
cocktail trolley served in front of the open log fires in the
lounges.
South Lodge Family Fortunes Quiz: Our own
version of this family favourite! Get together to hear those
immortal words, "Our survey says!"
South Lodge Taste Buds
Challenge… you and your team members are blindfolded
before being presented with some common and some not so common food
and drinks to identify from their aroma, texture, taste and
feel!
Boxing Day…
Sunday 26th December
From 7.00am: An easy
breakfast starts your day, complete with a glass of bubbly of
course!
From 10.00am: The
morning is yours to do as you will but if you need a few
suggestions…
Golf: Have a round of golf or
even a lesson from one of our semi-pro golfers at our sister
property Mannings Heath Golf Club.
15 minute clay-pigeon shooting
lesson: back by popular demand!
Christmas Family Zone: Board games, Jigsaws,
Playstation, The Wii and many more... or why not blow away the
cobwebs with a stroll around the grounds
12noon: A superb
three-course lunch is served in the 'new look' Camellia
Restaurant
From 2.00pm: The
afternoon is all about leisure… get the kids enthusiastic about
food with a Kid’s Kitchen. Or visit our big-screen
cinema room to watch one of the movies being shown throughout your
stay
From 5.30pm: This
evening’s entertainment is a sight to be seen – it begins with
Executive Chef versus Head Chef in a Ready Steady Cook style cook
off! Enjoy a glass of champagne with us as the temperature
rises!
From 6.00pm: Place
your bets! This evening's three course dinner is served alongside
the South Lodge interactive race night. Choose your steed, place
your bets and watch the race unfold...
