South Lodge Hotel
Built in 1883 and set amongst 93 acres of
woodland, parkland, and manicured flower beds. South Lodge has just
enjoyed a stylish refurbishment and sympathetic extension that
maintains the look and feel of a grand family home affording
magnificant views over the Sussex downs.
With 89 individually stylish bedrooms, some with double baths,
steam rooms and private gardens and some with hand carved four
poster beds, huge seating areas - there is even one with its own
bubbly terrace hot tub! - it moves South Lodge into an illustrious
new era and hugely luxurious venue.

including the Camellia Restaurant, the newly crafted al fresco
terrace and the gorgeous open air Champagne Pavilion.
Chef Lewis Hamblet and his team have
deservedly been awarded 3 AA rosettes for their consistently
impressive menus and tasty dishes. Lewis works avidly with local
suppliers and together they research and source the very best
seasonal produce allowing him to develop varied menus. So whether
you are nibbling, snacking, feasting or fine dining, South Lodge is
a very tasty option.

Budding Tigers?
For golf enthusiasts we have two outstanding
Championship courses only a five minute drive away at the hotel’s
sister property, Mannings Heath Golf Club. Here, South Lodge
residents enjoy privileged access to play the members only
Waterfall Course.
Established in 1905 this par 72 Championship
course offers a lovely feeling of seclusion, created by the mature
trees and dramatic undulating terrain and presents an immaculate
test of golf for every calibre of golfer. Alternatively, guests can
play Mannings’ second course, the Kingfisher which opened in 1996
and offers breathtaking panoramic views across the South Downs.
