A refreshing light, fresh and crisp wine ideal as an aperitif or  with light dishes and salads.

Elegant and a slightly herbaceous bouquet with classic hints of flint. Medium bodied and well balanced. Sensational with fish.

 

122 Cairnbrae Wild South, Sauvignon Blanc, Malborough, NewZealand

This multi award winning wine showing concentrated citrus and tropical fruit flavours with a rich lifted finish, great with pasta sauces and spiced dishes.

A perfect blend of soft peppery Shiraz and rich ripe Cabernet with a bouquet of plums and spice and intense fruit flavours on the palate. This wine is great with a wide range of dishes from casseroles to barbeques.

 

 27 Cabernet Sauvignon, Julio Bouchon, Chile                     2005       £22.00 

A delightful soft and rounded red with ripe blackcurrant fruit and no harsh edges. Drink with creamy poultry dishes or a wide variety of meats.

 

22 Merlot, La Playa,Chile                                                          2005       £23.00

A deep red ruby colour and notes of plum, black cherry and spices. Very fresh with soft ripe tannins and great with grilled meats.

 

224 Cabernet/Pinotage, Ormer Bay, South Africa                 2004     £24.00

The nose of cherries, cloves and nutmeg is complemented by ripe raspberry and plum. The palate is well balanced with the black fruits of the cabernet balanced by the bitter dark chocolate of the Pinotage. Drinks well on it’s own or with flavoursome meat dishes.

Soft, medium to full bodied wine with ripe red fruit flavour and an elegant touch of smoke and vanilla from its contact with oak. An ideal complement to red roasted meats and pasta dishes with tomato sauces.

 

154 Minervois, Maurel Vedeau, Languedoc, France           2004       £30.00

This exceptional blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan grapes produces a dark red colour and strong flavours although the wine is light in body with light tannins and a long lasting taste. Well matched with Mediterranean dishes.

 

189 Rioja, ‘Capitoso’, Bodega Lealtanza, Spain                2004       £32.00

100% Tempranillo and aged for 18 months in oak, this Rioja is rich in flavour with fine vanilla tones. Goes well with red meats and cheeses.

This Medoc has a big, juicy and spicy nose and a smooth palate of Ripe blackberries and powerful tannins. Ideal for red meats and casseroles.

                       

153 Pinot Noir, Michel Juillot, Burgundy, France              2003       £36.00

A true Bourgogne wine. Aged for one year in oak barrels, this Pinot Noir shows both red and black fruit with plumy overtones. Very smooth and well balanced aromas and tannins. Great with game and poultry.

Deep dark red with a touch of purple and typical McLaren Vale Shiraz aromas of Pepper, spice, leather and a hint of coconut. Peppery and juicy flavours, Great with red meats

Medium bodied, dry but naturally fruity wine with all the characteristics of the gamay grape but due to extra oaking a Beaujolais with a soft well balanced palate of summer fruits. Drink with charcuterie and other styles of meat.   

          

161 Crozes Hermitage, Ferraton Pere et Fils, Cote du Rhone   2004  £42.00

Made from 100% Syrah grapes this wine has an intense cherry colour and aroma of cherry and blackcurrant fruits with hints of spice and ripe red fruits on the palate with soft tannins. A good match for game and rich red meats.   

        

218 Pinotage, Simonsig. Stellenbosch, South Africa                  2003  £43.00

This unique variety produced from crossing Pinot Noir and Cinsault vines to produce a deep black cherry hue with raspberry and plumy fruits with the distinctive forest floor earthiness . Good with aromatic dishes or even chilled in the summertime.
